A few weeks ago I went on my occasional shopping spree at Primark to find things to upcycle. What I found? White canvas shoes for 3 pound a pair. I was so happy that I bought four pairs. Yep, four. (I have to admit though, one for Mr Thisblogisnotforyou and one for a friend)
I still had tons of fabric paint at home (I used to paint bags and Tshirts before I bought my Marilyn (my sewing machine).
I customised a pattern using Photoshop and printed it out to use it as a template.
You know what? You can mix fabric paint just as you would mix normal paint.
I used my favourite fine tip black fabric marker to transfer the pattern before colouring it.
I left a few shapes blank to give it the extra “DIY-look”.My friend loved them! I would’ve liked to keep them, but unfortunately I really have nothing to wear in these colours (First world problems, I know!) :)
It’s as simple as that! And I’ve got three pairs of blank shoes left. So keep an eye out for the next shoe DIY post 😉

Awesome! Now I wanna try:)
me too !!!
Wow, these are really stunning, I love the design you’ve done. I think I had a T-shirt with a similar design in the 80s! (Not an insult, ha ha…)
Looking forward to seeing the results of the other three as well.
Haha! Thank you Sabrina:)
Love it! I just may have to try this. Thanks so much for sharing it.
Thanks Sherri!
Love this! So much more fun the plain white shoes 😀 Would love to see other stuff you’ve painted.

Fabulous – absolutely love these, from the hand-made non perfectly straight lines to the colours. Very much looking forward to seeing what happens with the remaining 3 pairs!
